Setotaw Befekadu

An extraordinary journey of a shepherd boy from Maychew to a dedicated educator in Sydney, Setotaw Befekadu's life stands as a testament to his relentless determination and the pursuit of purpose. From herding his family's cattle in Ethiopia's scenic landscapes to nurturing the intellect of students in Western Sydney for over three decades, Setotaw's narrative is one of resilience, adaptability, and a deep-seated commitment to growth only made possible by the providence and goodness of God!

But his journey didn't end in the classrooms of Australia. He was beckoned by a greater calling upon his return to Ethiopia. Witnessing the myriad challenges facing his homeland, he began to lead the "Eloi Ethiopian Prison Ministry" 18 years ago. Driven by the belief that one can create ripples of change even with small gestures, Setotaw reached out, offering both spiritual and material support to inmates. What began as a modest endeavour transformed into a movement of compassion, healing, and redemption, showcasing the monumental impact of steadfast commitment and heartfelt dedication.
